You have goals, but you also have friends and family to hangout with, your nutrition and exercise, your full-time job, and your side thing that you’re trying to make a career out of. It’s a lot that you’re trying to juggle and finding the right balance, or PRIORITY, is a daunting task. What should you do? What should you give up? Difficult question, is it not? I’m going to help you answer it with this post.
For one, I don’t believe you should be giving up anything for your health. Exercise and good nutrition are essential to stay quick on your feet and have a healthy mind. After all, what’s the point of spending so much time building wealth if you can’t live long enough to enjoy it? You see my point? Your health should definitely be a priority and something you work at every day.
Clearly you shouldn’t give up your side thing. That is what you are putting all the work in for. You want it to be your full-time job. That needs to be a priority. In other words, if you have a full-time job, you need to be putting in full-time hours towards your side thing. If not, how can you expect it to bloom. That’s why it’s always difficult to hold a full-time job and actually do what you want to do. That full-time job consumes your life, so make sure you actually enjoy it.
That brings us to the last thing. Hanging out with friends and family. I believe that’s something that should be put on hold. Your friends anyways. I’m not expecting you to stop giving attention to your girlfriend, wife, or kids, but anything else can be placed on hold. I mean time spent together is reduced drastically. If they are REAL friends, they will understand and be there when you make it. Success demands decisions like this. It is a relationship that demands full attention. Hence, put in that full time for it.
You can start by doing one thing for me TONIGHT. Don’t go and hangout with friends or on a date tonight. Cancel it if you had it planned and put in some hours tonight towards your goal. You will be thankful you did. Then tomorrow you can go out and celebrate for being able to actually make that choice for once. It’s a choice you will need to make often, so get used to it. Let me know in the comments below how it worked out for you!
